    • Oyster shell mounds are common all over coastal Florida, Texas and Georgia in the US as well. Many of them were dug up and used for road construction in the early 20th century.

    • A local restaraunt that I frequent, recently, has decided to no longer offer plastic straws to folks - and I applaud the desire to limit plastic straws to the ocean etc -

      But I must say, I had forgotten how bad waxed paper straws felt and tasted since it has been a number of years since waxed paper stars were in common use. Maybe I do need to order my own stainless steel straw after all.
