Anything by ABBA. Job done.
I have to admit that I like Shatner. I don't and probably wouldn't own any of his albums, but there's just something about him that makes me smile. His cover of Common People is great.
The old joke goes:
You are in a room with Brian Eno, Bryan Ferry and Bryan Adams.
You have a gun and two bullets - what do you do?
A: Shoot Bryan Adams twice.
I never got into any of the bands talked about so far, but I can already see this thread is going down the road of potentially offending huge swaths of people. There's a world of difference between Abba or Bryan Adams (who sold millions of albums to admiring fans) and, say, something like this, which was always only ever a gimmick (and sold millions of albums to novelty seekers):
I like Bryan Adams. And some ABBA music even. But it’s okay with me if people share it here as examples of bad music. I find this discussion fascinating and really enjoyed @wgoodey ’s share of Common People: he shared a song that I wouldn’t otherwise have discovered. Do you have a great song by an artist who has been panned by critics? That would be interesting.
This lyrical trainwreck
I think a Bad Music classic for the ages is The Vomit Song.
(Am I the only one here who’s heard of Dr. Demento?)
Regarding offending large swaths of people, sorry, but has to be done:
