This past Wednesday I headed to Lynn, MA for a change of scenery, a wander through the murals that live in the center of town.
The last time I visited was back in 2018. New murals were added in both 2019 and 2020 so I knew it was time for another visit. I saw a lot on this visit but I missed a lot too. I plan to return soon to find more murals.
This one was created by @b0rdalo_ii, It combines a mural with waste objects, creating a 3-dimensional piece. Here's a statement from the artist:
I was born in Lisbon, 1987. I belong to a generation that is extremely consumerist, materialist and greedy. With the production of things at its highest, the production of "waste" and unused objects is also at its highest. "Waste" is quoted because of its abstract definition: "one man's trash is another man's treasure". I create, recreate, assemble and develop ideas with end-of-life material and try to relate it to sustainability, ecological and social awareness.
