    • Today I am grateful for the sound of birds chirping outside. It means that it's a beautiful day, not too hot, not too cool and it stopped raining. All the windows are open in the house and the air is so fresh.

I'm finding this challenge, ummm, challenging in more than just choosing the one thing to be grateful for each day but, as a photographer to find an image to go with each one. Going back through the archives is always fun though.

    • After our kids were grown there was a period when there were no small children on our cul-de-sac. I missed the sound of children playing. A few years ago a new crop of kids were old enough to gather outside and play. I love the sound of kids giggling and yelling to each other as they play.

Oh, and bacon sizzling in a pan. That's an awesome sound too.

    • I couldn’t sleep this morning so at 2am I took a couple mile hike thru the desert. Enough of a crescent moon to see but still, sprained my ankle. I head a couple coyote rustle the thru the area.

Then these quiet little birds began welcoming the day. Such a happy way to bring in a fresh delightful day of opportunity.

    • I can't imagine hiking at 2am, but then I live in suburbia so not really any great hiking spots. Sounds like a wonderful way to start the day.
