Thinking about the demise of Cake, led me to review some of it's earlier threads, from before the pandemic; there is so much really great stuff that might be lost, which I find very sad.
I really miss the B&W photo threads @StephenL used to host
Book recommendations and reviews
Travellogues and motorcycles, and books
Discussions of history, like @Chris fascinating experience attending the 75th anniversary of D-Day
Sadly, due to the way the data for the pages on Cake.co are parsed, I think, one cannot even print a copy of a thread as my printer only sees the first page or two, no matter how long the thread is. I suspect the same will occur if one tries to save the thread as a pdf, although I haven't given that a whirl yet. And the linked images do not appear in the text either when printed.
Even threads about Archeoastronomy and back yard photography of celestial objects
And these are just a very tiny tip of a very large iceberg moving through time....... and hopefully it doesn't melt due to "heat"
