Yeah, I think that's a bit of a shame. The idea is/was nice, I like knowing what interface I am going to get, and I think that stock Android is clean and a lot nicer than what some manufacturers do to it. Plus guaranteed core updates for a couple of years, which is a big thing for cheaper low-mid end devices.
