Any color is good!
The flowers in the 2nd photo are exquisite.
a bit of red from today's walk
Here's a mix of green and autumn color from today:
A maple leaf, mid-change:
Milkweed isn't colorful but it's definitely a sign of autumn.
Maple leaves wearing pure red are still hanging from the tree.
Today's walk in the rain allowed me to capture some bright color.
I walked around the hood this morning with my new 35mm macro. Still learning how to use it. Tricky, a macro so wide.
These flowers are quite tiny:
But I could get pretty close. Felt like I was an inch away:
I've been catching butterflies up until this week - funny, I don't think of butterflies and autumn, but I see more in September and early October than all summer long in my back yard.

Painted lady and a monarch
And a lone monarch. I actually was photographing three monarchs in a single frame, but could never get the composition I really wanted, so I binned most of them
Here are some photos from my autumn color recent trips
Taken here:
riding up there was fun too
And a different park.. notice the road down there by the river..
Here's a bit of color from a walk in Harold Parker State Forest this afternoon.
Here are a couple from today, on a rail trail in Topsfield, MA.
As I walked along a trail late yesterday afternoon the wind was blowing leaves off of the trees.

Leaves are fading to rusty colors.
But there is still red to be found:
Trees are reaching their late autumn "no leaves" state.
A Gingko left a carpet of yellow beneath its almost bare branches.
And a Japanese Maple did the same in shades of red.
This flower is in my driveway, I planted it, and I can't remember a thing about it. Each year as it blooms I think, "what is that?!"
I'm not positive but I think that's a protea plant.
I didn’t know about that long press thing for image searching!
