So about a decade ago, I used to do magazine-style interviews on a movie making website. I would do these incredible long form interviews with up and coming directors, screenwriters and movie producers.
I remember doing the last ever interview with a Hollywood producer who was getting a film made with Roddy Piper of WWF and cult classic “They Live” fame, Jamie Farr of Mash, and other stars with niche audiences.
Our interview was me coming up with initial questions, her emailing back her responses, me sending follow up questions that dig deeper into an interesting nuggest shared during a prior question, and then the two of us coming to final agreement on the edited interview to be published.
After she died unexpectedly, I re-published the interview on the forum and many of her friends were grateful for this final remembrance and connection.
I have taken that interview approach and applied it to two magazine style interviews I will be publishing this weekend as part of a series I am calling
Inside the Mind of.
It is an in-depth discussion into how fascinating people do what they do. I’ll be going into depth with a Science Fiction novelist about the art and craft of writing. And I’ll be chatting with a master educator about how you get kids to engage with the content.
The writer interview will be published on Sunday, with submitting questions to the Q&A to be opened the day before. And our interview with a math educator will be published on Saturday.
As always, please respond here if you have questions or comments to share.
