The First Photograph, or more specifically, the earliest known surviving photograph made in a camera, was taken by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1826 or 1827 ~ https://www.hrc.utexas.edu/kiosk/firstphotograph/
I know there is quite a substantial community of photographers in the Cake community and thought I would share an image that has always struck me as interesting. The first known photograph taken around 1826. The year John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died. Ludwig van Beethoven put the finishing touches on the String Quartet in C sharp Minor. 38 years after the U.S. Constitution was ratified. And 5 years after the death of Napoleon Bonaparte. I can almost see these events unfolding through this photograph. It just reminds me how close we are to history and how important it is we continue to learn from it.
