I just joined a few days ago and so far so good. One feature that I haven't been able to figure out is how to include only part of a post in my reply to that post. I've seen others do it so it must be possible. Ideally, there should be a way of interspersing quotes with comments and also using quotes from different posts in a single reply.

You can do it by first selecting and copying the text you want to have as a quote. Then paste this text into the area where you type in your post. Finally, select this text (or any portion of the text) and you'll see a blue bar with formatting options, select a "quote" icon as shown in the screenshot. It is a manual process and we want to make it better in the future, but for now this is how you do it 😉

OK, that works but it's limited to one single contiguous quote--no way to intersperse several comments. You can't repeat the action easily because the full text of the post is not accessible, though I guess you could open several tabs and switch back and forth. If you post using Reply, it still includes the original post even when you're just commenting on one part. I realize this is betaware, but I would encourage the Bakers to smooth out this particular rough edge sooner rather than later.

      Great feedback, @Richard!

Quoting text is an essential feature and we are going to improve on this interaction in the future. It is something I use often and it isn't as intuitive or smooth as I would like it to be.

There is however another feature that you can already use and it will help you to quote multiple times. You can minimize and maximize what we call "postbar" whether you are replying or just posting. This will show you all of the posts in the conversation to use as a reference or to quote something.

Just use the arrow above to minimize this post bar and see all of the posts. You can then copy the text, maximize this post bar again and paste it. Here is a screenshot:

      So far so good.

      Yes, now I understand.

      Yeah. What ^he said

And it works across multiple posts. Good.

Well, it's clunky but it will do for now. Thanks so much for the tutorial, Vilen.

      Hmmm.

“Clunky” is an understatement when one is trying to go through this process on a smartphone screen. Just sayin’.
