I stumbled over the difference between a "conversation" and a "panel." But I'm stumped about what "pending" means when I create one of them. Am I being moderated? How much is moderated? And what exactly are "topics?" And why can I create only five within a conversation or panel?
When you create a panel, you are creating a private conversation that only the panelists can join in. The rest of Cake can view it, but they can’t jump in or troll your chat with inappropriate or unhelpful comments.
When you invite people to a panel, Cake sends an invitation to their email address on file. Those invited will show up as Pending until they accept your invite.
As the creator of a panel, you are the moderator. You can hide responses (comments) and can delete reactions (emojis 🔥).
Topics are like hashtags on Instagram and Twitter. You follow topics that interest you and then all conversations with those hashtags will appear in your For You timeline.
You may want to create a new topic for your Birmingham group so that people can easily find all of the conversations related to it.
The five topic limit seems to work for most people and avoids abuses.
If the above isn’t clear, please ask again as it’s my fault for not explaining it well enough.
