At the moment, Donald Trump is railing against Georgia governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger for the fact that he didn’t win the state of Georgia in the election.
All of this happening while Georgia Republicans are seeking to win at least one of two open Senate seats to have a majority. If Democrats pick up both seats, they will force a 50/50 Senate in which Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris would be the tying vote in a split Senate vote. Ipso facto, they’d control the Senate. The danger for Republicans is that by calling the election a fraud, Trump is in effect telling his base that their votes won’t be counted. Therefore, why should they vote? If Trump’s base doesn’t come out for this special election, Republicans could very well lose the Senate.
Anyone got thoughts on this? Could Donald Trump cost Republicans the Senate? Man, talk about the chickens coming home to roost if that happens.
