So, I am sure everyone saw the press release(s) for the new 2020 Chevy Corvette with it's new mid-engine design.
I am filled with angst regardless of any technological advances the mid-engine might offer up.
To me, the Corvette had evolved (and, it has always been iconic) to the epitome of AMERICAN design and engineering. The Dodge Viper is also a supercar but it sort of looks like an ugly bully to me. IMHO. But, the Corvette kept within it's brand and the last couple of years I would just gaze in appreciation on how sexy they looked and sounded. From 1/4 mile away. I have never ridden in a new one.
With this new mid-engine design, the look seems like a page taken out of the Hyundai or KIA playbook as a copycat design of Enzo Ferrari. I love the looks of Ferrari's and I have been to the museum in Modena. BUT, I always loved how the Corvette was unmistakably an American look.
