On Tuesday, August 25, I headed back to the refuge.
I parked at lot 3, planning to walk south on the beach. There were a handful of people on the beach when I arrived but no one was walking. I walked to the south for an hour, then turned and walked back. Although I only saw 1 other person while I was walking, there were quite a few folks enjoying the beach near the boardwalk back to the parking lot when I returned.
The beach at Parker River is quite narrow at high tide but it is a wonderful place to walk as the smooth sand arises from the sea. I arrived at the midpoint between high and low tide, a perfect time for walking.
