    • I don't have a Switch, so I can't personally recommend anything. But I'd like to know what people would recommend too.

    • My number one game for the switch is a three way tie. 😄 All three are very different.

      Stardew Valley

"You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?"

It's so much more than the description. When I first researched this game, many people talked about the characters in the game, they truly are fantastic. It's a game you can play for 20+ minutes as a break at work, and pick up where you left off. My eight year old enjoys this game, too.

      Dead Cells

"Dead Cells puts you in control of a failed alchemic experiment trying to figure out what's happening on a sprawling, ever-changing and seemingly cursed Island. Tough but fair combat, responsive controls, challenging foes, permadeath and of course, the emergency panic roll to get you out of trouble, make for a demanding, visceral and cathartic action game."

When my husband gave me this game, I really thought he hadn't read anything about the game, other than it's a side scroller (I love side scrollers), but my goodness it's fun, challenging, and a bit addictive. :)

      Zelda: Breath of the Wild

"Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games. Step into a world of discovery, exploration, and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. Travel across vast fields, through forests, and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the kingdom of Hyrule In this stunning Open-Air Adventure."

Hours, and hours, and hours of open world gameplay, you can do nearly anything you want in the game, go almost anywhere. Play it at your own pace, find the little mini games and quests. If you plan on playing this game away from your docking station, don't expect good battery life. That's the only downside

Honorable mentions, some of my daughter's favorites:

      Super Mario Odyssey

      Lego City Undercover

      Mario Kart Deluxe

      Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze

Edited to clean up formatting as I originally posted from mobile, and to add Snipperclips. :)

    • I've purchased Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, but it won't arrive until sometime next week. I think I was most looking forward to playing that one, as I loved the OG Donkey Kong Country.

I also got Super Smash Bros U & Hollow Knight, which I'd heard good things about. So far Hollow Knight is a great side scroller that's holding my attention better than Smash.

And I ordered Zelda: Breath of the Wind because I'd heard it was the best. game. period. No pressure, right? :-D

    • Awesome post and totally agree on Stardew Valley! It’s an adorable pixel art farming simulator that’s so relaxing to jump in an out of whenever you want a break, wherever.

    • I wish I could, but I’ve got stuck in 3ds hahaha. But I were you I’d get the big names of Nintendo: Mario kart, Zelda, donkey Kong... you can’t go wrong with them ;)
