My ballot has been cast for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris! It got mailed today!
Ballots here in Utah go out on Oct. 12. There are a lot of people here looking forward to that date (candidates included)!
Meanwhile, Utah is hosting tonight’s VP debate, so there is a lot of political talk happening. Harris arrived here several days ago and has had a lot of coverage as she has been visiting local landmarks.
Apparently, one of the founders of The Lincoln Project lives here in Utah, too, so TLP is planning to launch a couple of ads aimed directly at Utah to see if it can reduce Trump’s 10 point margin here.
I think there's an outside shot Biden takes Utah. Not likely, but it could happen. Trump only got 45% of the vote in Utah in 2016. Biden has lower negatives than Hillary and has Evan McMullin backing him. Maybe that will push Biden over the top?
I don’t know... the overwhelming majority of Trump backers are the males in this state. 57% of Utah men favor Trump, 32% of Utah men favor Biden. I think many men would rather sit out this round than vote for Biden. That way, they think they can still live with their macho-maga selves and preserve their sense of self-righteousness. There’s a 29-point gender gap in who is favored. A lot of women have flipped over to Biden’s camp, but men won’t admit a mistake, they’ll just not vote. (These numbers were released AFTER General Conference, BTW.)
(Even Romney - the only Republican who voted to impeach Trump - has announced that he will write in a candidate rather than vote for Biden. 🙄)

Not voting for Trump is almost as good as voting for Biden.
not sure about that... if the vote count is close (because voters decide not to vote instead of voting for Biden), we could end up with an awful conundrum on Nov. 4
