Please join me in welcoming Mark Katakowski PhD - Co-founder, President, and Chief Science Officer of the longevity company Forever Labs, Inc. - for a Cake Panel! This Panel is open for questions.
About Mark: Mark Katakowski PhD, is Co-founder, President, and Chief Science Officer of the longevity company Forever Labs, Inc. Mark has over 18 years of biomedical research experience, with an extensive scientific publication record in disciplines ranging from solid state physics to mesenchymal stem cell therapies of neurological disease. In 2010, Mark was first to demonstrate that microRNA functions as a communication molecule between brain tumor cells, a previously unknown mechanism of intercellular eukaryotic gene regulation. Based upon his experience using stem cells to treat age-related disease, Mark hypothesizes that rejuvenating the bone marrow stem cell niche provides a significant opportunity to combat aging, a goal he is currently pursuing at Forever Labs.
Prior to Forever Labs, Mark served as a Staff Research Scientist in the Neurology Department of Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, Michigan. He has an extensive speaking record and gave a Talk at Google in August of 2017. Mark received a B.S. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from Oakland University, Michigan. He is a Y Combinator alumni and participated in the Summer 2017 batch as a Co-founder of Forever Labs.
As a non-scientist, Mark is an avid painter and writer. He is author of the blog Under Odysseus, which was featured in Sarah Boxer’s book Ultimate Blogs in 2008. Mark is also the creator of the social network, hubski.com, which he founded in 2010. In addition, Mark is a blockchain enthusiast and expert, and serves as a director for the popular Ethereum application MyCrypto, Inc. He is also angel investor and serves as Partner at Orange Seed Capital.
