You know that guy that has a favorite book, movie, or joke and is always ready at the least excuse to bring it up again?
Well, I am that way about a certain parody song.
In the Gilbert and Sullivan opera, there is a song which is itself a parody of Field Marshal Garnet Joseph Wolseley, 1st Viscount Wolseley KP, GCB, OM, GCMG, VD, PC. known as the modern major-general song.
But that's not my favorite parody. My favorite parody song is a parody of that song.
But if you've never heard the Modern Major General song then you won't find my favorite parody nearly as funny as if you have heard it. So if you've never heard it, you may want to search for "I am the very model of a modern major general" before you listen to the song which is found at the bottom of this post.
