When all the new TLD's were approved and for sale, I was a big fan of the .vegas and regularly recommended it to my customers with websites here in Las Vegas. I know the company locally that "bought" the .vegas domain. Nice guys but not business guys. They are still fixated that people will pay $1000's YEARLY for a domain that can be branded. I have a website that I promote my swag from and originally I called it swagman.vegas BUT, as lidja pointed out I have had some problems with a .vegas email account and several of my customers had to do as the bank suggested to her - create gmail accounts. When I was still 'friends" with the DOT VEGAS guys, they got me a free $250 pass to some World Domain Registry conference here in Vegas and there are some big players involved brokering 1000's of domains at a discounted rate and my take away these were all going to be slippery spammers.
GoDaddy still charges$65/annually for the dot vegas renewal and all it did was cause confusion so I bought swagmanvegas.com for $13.
I have no opinion on the cake.co except I do like one less character I have to type. lol
