The title and subtitle of this article first caught my attention but I became fascinated with what I was learning and I could not stop reading it.
I have never been that interested in birds. I do not dislike them (except for the crows or ravens or whatever the large black aggressive ones that are becoming more frequent). But I could always skip the bird exhibits at the zoo.
But I found that I was missing a lot of fascinating birds, bird behavior, and bird beauty. Who knew (besides bird watchers 😊) that birds could be so unique and intriguing?
This article is not just about birds but about other animals as well. Many of them species I have never heard of. And they are all very engrossing. Who knew insects can perceive ultraviolet light?
"Many plants have evolved flower parts that absorb or reflect ultraviolet light, forming patterns like rings, bull’s-eyes and starbursts."
So now I am thinking about flowers differently as well.
