It's incredibly sobering to ponder that of the 1,000 wonderful things I could devote my life to, I have chosen one: to build Cake.
It's especially sobering when I read a book like Jaron Lanier's new one: Ten Arguments For Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now.
Jaron is a respected technologist and TED speaker who has been sounding this alarm for a very long time. My hopeful view of the world is you could say the same about the free press and you would be right, some of the media can be crazy bad: I would say Alex Jones, some would say Rachel Maddow.
But if Facebook and Twitter are bad, then doesn't the argument to build something good get stronger, not weaker?
