After losing a few comments by my own error I decided to type something up in Word and importing it is still a problem. I mentioned this before but I figured I'd mention it again.

I'm curious how you ended up losing posts. Could you elaborate more on what happened? Losing your work is something we try very hard never to do. For example, Cake's post editor autosaves drafts constantly, and supports undo (Cmd+Z on macOS, Ctrl+Z on Windows) to help you recover from mistakes.

Preserving formatting when copying and pasting from Word is really tricky (partly because Word really doesn't make it easy). Cake will never be able to preserve all Word formatting since Cake posts don't support the full range of formatting that Word allows, but I'll see what we can do to improve things.

If I've typed something but not saved it yet then press back arrow on the web browser. Another way I lose stuff is if I am going back and forth and don't notice the post is hiding in the edit section or whatever. Sometimes weird things happen and things appear and disappear without me being aware of it. Having things hidden behind or underneath other stuff is one way. Posts I'm working on are not always visible when I'm going back and forth between tabs and such. Sometimes It's gone or partly there and then when I try to change the editing it reappears. Don't ask me to try to tell you exactly what I've done but it's very confusing and frustrating at times.

If you accidentally hit the back button, don't worry! Cake still has your post. You can just return to the conversation you were viewing and open the post editor again, and your autosaved post should be right there waiting for you.

This works when creating a new conversation, posting in an existing conversation, and when typing a reply to a specific post. To resume a draft of a reply to a specific post, just click the reply button again on the same post you were originally replying to.

Wow, that sounds confusing. When you say things "appear and disappear", and that posts you're working on are "not always visible" or are "gone or partly there", do you mean that the Cake website itself is making your in-progress posts appear and disappear? I'd love to understand this better so I can try to figure out the source of your problems.

It's hard to say exactly what has happened but at times I've been at the reply and there was nothing and it was blank then I ckicked one of the buttons and it was back. I can't say exactly waht happened.
