Vanity Fair recently published an article about how Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner had a national plan in place to attack COVID-19 and how that plan fell apart. The main reasons for why it fell apart was Trump’s belief that more testing led to more cases (that’s like saying more pregnancy tests means more pregnancies) and his belief that Democrat led states would be hit the hardest, making it an effective strategy to just blame Democrat governors for the pandemic. Of course, that plan has backfired as the virus has hit virtually every state hard, irrespective of political affiliation. Did anyone really think the virus had a political agenda?
It should be noted that the White House has refuted this story, but knowing what we know about the Trump administration, nothing in this piece surprises me. I find that to be pretty sad.
