I've been merrily watching videos from Tesla owners who believe Autopilot saved them from accidents. I wonder how to know how many real drivers would have avoided these crashes? Here's an example of someone who got rear-ended when slowing down for a car ahead of them, and it looks like they will turn into a Tesla sandwich. But the Tesla does a quick swerve. Doesn't look like a human could react that quickly.

In the meantime, Musk is getting raked in the media for lack of transparency about crash data for the crashes that are happening. Twitter seems to be completely polarized with Tesla fan boys and haters on opposite extremes. How will we ever get real data about this?
