    • I usually get to immersed in the story to focus much on the effects, especially on the first viewing. But what I've found with subsequent rewatches is that I notice more about how the movie was actually done and that is when I will notice effects more.

If it's a particularly boring movie I'll actually start paying attention more to what is happening in the background than what the characters are doing and that is also when I start to notice effects more.

    • The special eefects that fascinate me are the ones that I miss until they are pointed out. Ron Howard's "A Beautiful Mind" is (in my humble opinion) a masterpiece because the special effects are easily overlooked and the acting and plot are "center stage."
