The amount of time (3+ years) this project is taking is definitely a concern given how many awards they have received for such innovative design. One would think that with this much attention they would have been attracting capital and man power to make it a reality sooner.
On the other hand, maybe they are taking the time to do it right just like Tesla did with the first Roadster. I could be I’m naive, and this is just a side project, but I desperately want to believe that it will come into life soon.
The low clearance is definitely a concern, given how long the wheelbase is. Just imagine coming off of a curb accidentally and hitting the battery pack. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Maybe this is something they could fix or provide different frame choices just like there are optional fenders and carriers show in the promo video.
I wish I could test ride Stater to really understand how it handles, but for now all I have are the specs and video demos.
Lastly, the alternative scooter you’ve dug up just doesn’t look like a Batpod. It wont make me “look cool” and that is a deal breaker 😜.
