Happy new year to all my friends in Cake land!
As I do every year, I love making end of the year highlight reels from my video adventures and watching them for years to come. Here's the latest. I call it "Photowalks, the Friends edition," because I had such a blast in 2019 meeting up with other photographers for the making of these videos.
My take on Photowalking:
You notice things when your camera eye is open that you just don’t other times, like big and little details, buildings and people that seem way more interesting than when you’re soaring past at 20 or 30 MPH. And when you get another photographer by your side, instead of your two eyes, you’ve got four of them on the case. The enthusiasm is infectious and just makes for a great day.
Photographing by yourself is great--I do it all the time. But what's cooler than meeting up with other like-minded photographers? And as I say in the video--isn't it better to have a friend with you for the lunch break?
Thanks to Josh, Christine, Jan, Jose, Klaus, Kirstin, Kristin, Jessica, Bob, Marla, Tanjareen, Anthony, Steve, Scott, Ginger, Robin, Sharon and Dave, who joined me on Photowalks this year, and to all the Cake readers who watched the episodes and chimed in here.
Where would you like to see me go in 2020? (I've got Lake Como down on the wish list @margot!)
Next stop: Hilo and the big island of Hawaii!
