Apparently they are equivalent to N95 masks. They have detailed instructions on how to use them.
Quite a fascinating camera!
Great video @Chris
At LEAST 20% of the masks I see being "worn" are not covering either the nose, or the mouth, or both.
I see some masks covering only a person's beard on their chin, frequently the nares are not covered, and sometimes the mask is just hanging from one ear.
I am certain some full face shields with N95 masks are very helpful in protecting someone, if one is within range of folks who are coughing hard, and spewing large droplets forcefully into the surrounding air. I doubt that they are of much use out of doors, or if one is able to maintain appropriate social distancing out of doors.
Health care workers, due to the very nature of their work, CANNOT social distance, so for them, face shields, with masks, are very important - particularly for respiratory techs, anesthesiologists and other personnel physically near patients airways. Some folks in retail have similar issues with inability to maintain social distancing.
The major reasons for members of the public to wear masks, is to help protect the other members of the public from the viral contaminated exhalations from people who are not aware they are infected. That way, even if they are unaware they are a risk, the mask helps minimize their risk to others.
We, the general public, non health care workers, wear masks to protect other folks, not really to protect ourselves.
That is why folks who refuse to wear masks, properly, are so annoying to many of us. They are endangering other members of the public, just like they were deliberately waving a loaded gun around in public - (an activity which is felony to perform).
They are publicly demonstrating their lack of concern for the health of their fellow citizens......
Well even the pope is on board:
