Earlier today, Donald Trump ripped into Dr. Anthony Fauci, calling him and others that work around him "idiots." Trump gave Fauci a backhanded compliment, calling him a "nice guy" who has been around for "500 years", saying that it's time we open things up and no longer listen to Fauci or science. Trump also called him a “disaster.”
Considering the way he has been treated, does it make sense for Dr. Fauci to resign? The reason I bring this up, is I think Fauci's resignation would result in two things:
#1. It would give him the green light to fully highlight and share just how bad this administration has handled the virus.
#2. It would hurt Trump's re-election odds even further, making it all the more likely that Biden gets in. Losing Fauci would be a critical and perhaps fatal blow to the Trump administration. Assuming Biden does get in, Biden's first order of business would be to bring Fauci back into the fold, giving him the respect that he deserves.
Curious to get some thoughts on this.
