    • Here's something I scanned this week - inspired by your chicken. It's a scene from the old town of Gruyères, taken in winter. This looks through the middle of the town, out the main gate, toward Le Moléson ski hill.

Nikon F80, scanned from a 35mm slide. Film... maybe Fuji Velvia 50.

    • This week's entry is one of my all-time favorite urban shots of the old town in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany.

Just after the sunset, a fresh coat of rain covered up the streets and made for beautiful reflections. The clock tower is a significant historical tourist attraction, and I wish I remembered its history, but I was too distracted with getting the shot.

      Camera: Sony A7s

      Lens: FE 35 f1.4

      Settings: f1.4, 1/60, ISO 320

    • Continuing with my scanning program, here's a shot I scanned this week.

Taken in 2004 at a Portuguese Cultural Day in Toronto, young dancers line up to perform and look around for their parents in the audience. Nikon F80, scanned from a 35mm slide using a Nikon Coolscan IV ED. Echtachrome 100 film.

These are the natural colours in the slide, so no modification was needed apart from removing a distracting white spot in the bottom of the frame, and a little sharpening to compensate for the loss in scanning.
