    • I recently picked up a new iPhone X and was blown away by the image quality it could create compared to my several years old predecessor. Black and white photography and macro photos seem to be where the technology shines brightest, but there is plenty of potential for other photo types depending on the quality of the eye taking the photo.

Welcome to Photos from Your Phone on Sundays, which will start on Sunday February 16, 2020. Show me an image you recently took with your phone.  (I’ll leave it up to your judgment to define “recent.”)

Submission guidelines: Have a pulse, a phone, and an image you took with said phone?  You can submit the photo.

    • Thanks in advance for participating in next week’s Photos from Your Phone on Sundays.

    • It’s Sunday in Australia, so that means

      and it’s time for another

Photos from Your Phone on Sundays!

In this photo I’ve chosen to share, I liked the contrast in geometry between the circular bowl and the square base as well as the design work on both.

But it’s up to your muse what you decide to share!

    • Some of the backroads in Silicon Valley are truly scenic. This one is literally called “No Name Trail” by Coyote Hills Park on the east side of the Bay. It is only a couple of miles away from Facebook’s campus, located on the west side of the Bay.

The marshlands around the area are protected and under restoration. Very few people ever make it that far up the trail, so wild birds like to nest there.

Taken with an iPhone X, while pedaling my way through.

    • Took this today, by accident, while fiddling with my gear in a gondola. Samsung Galaxy S10. Found out it exists upon returning home.

In this photo I’ve chosen to share, I spotted a bird eating below the bird feeder.

    • Sunrise over a Cayucos Beach, California. In the distance on the right side is Morro Bay’s “The Rock”. Took it with an iPhone X last fall.

For this photo, I loaded it into Adobe Photo Express and played around with the different filters. The filter used below is called “Inverted,” which is true since the original image was orange on a white background. (H/t to @DangerDave for the app suggestion.)

    • Took family to visit Corfe Castle, in Dorset UK. One of the earliest stone-built castles in England, it was a very fortified and defendable Royalist stronghold during the English civil war.

Because of this it was sadly "slighted" in 1646 when Oliver Cromwell's government passed an act of parliament ordering that it be destroyed. Although only ruins remain, there is enough there to tell the story of its remarkable history.

As the sun was getting low in the sky I was very pleased to have also captured two birds flying between the stone relics in very tight formation.

The weather is almost spring like today, so I thought I’d share a glimpse of green. Tried out one of the filters that gives it a 1970s Kodak color range. Call me nostalgic.

But it’s up to your muse what you decide to share!

    • It's Sunday somewhere, and I'll be offline for a great deal of time tomorrow. This is tomorrow's submission. I took it with the "selective focus" feature on my Samsung S9 and then "auto corrected" the image with the software included in the Samsung Gallery app that came on my phone. Pretty much the only credit that I can take is the composition. I didn't even grow or cut the flowers (the Mrs. Did!)

    • Walk in the hills of Arastradero Nature Preserve in Santa Clara County, California. Took this shot last week on an iPhone X with minor post edits.

    • I see your green, and raise you some white.

Stopped during a freeride in Austrian alps today and snapped this:

My photo. A bit of a laugh, which is something we can all use more of right now.
