More damage and scariness
More damage and scariness
I have a feeling things are about to get even more weird before things get better.
That said, I do think we'll see more Republicans gradually accept the results of this. They're just trying to figure out how to do so without upsetting Trump's base. It's the base they're most afraid of.
Going into today, we had Republican senators Mitt Romney (Utah), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Susan Collins (Maine), and Ben Sasse (Nebraska) congratulate Biden on his victory and formally acknowledge it. We can now add one more to the list: James Lankford (Oklahoma). He said on a radio show that if Biden isn't getting his intelligence briefings by Friday, he'll step in and do something. So, we're starting to see some of them break ranks. More will follow in the coming days and weeks, I'm sure. It's just a matter of them doing so as delicately as possible.
One Mississippi Republican has apologized for suggesting his state should secede from the union. In his tweet, he misspelled secede as "succeed." So, there are a lot of clowns in the party, no doubt...
might have missed seeing this?
Barr has certainly been pushing the limits of what he can get away with. While checking for voters fraud and asking for recounts is well within the administrations boundaries, they are clearly misleading the public or rather Republican voters. There’s getting to be a huge breakdown in trust in the USA. I don’t see this getting better when Trump starts his new media company.
I hope the new media company falls flat on its face like Quibi, and like so many other Trump projects.

I’d love if that were true but he has an amazingly loyal following. Just look at what his followers say on Fox News comments when Fox says anything counter to Trump. Yes the most radical are the most vocal but he has an immense following.
It’s interesting that the vote went exactly opposite of what I’d expect: I would have thought the hurting areas would have voted for change.
It's easier to sell hate to people who have lost hope.
Chris,
This piece by Gordon Brown of Scotland may help you to understand why what he calls "overcentralization" is a problem in the UK,
Even Gordon Brown talks about being proportional to population, the Electoral College is not that.
