    • Super interesting thread.

That's because my central image of Uganda was formed when Idi Amin was in charge and it was a dangerous, barbaric place.

I'm so glad you're sharing a different view of the country.

    • Thanks, Chris! I wish you were here with us! Yeah the centrifugal force thing is super fascinating. This place has a ton of potential. They just need to have a smooth transition from one leader to the next. Their current president is around 75 years of age.

    • yeah, under Yoweri Museveni, this country has transformed itself for the better. Tourism is a huge industry here and they are reaping the benefits of being much safer than when Idi Amin was in charge.

    • Wow! A friend of ours from Nigeria said the way to get away from them is to run around a tree. The way their locomotion works they can’t go in tight circles. Next time you see one you might wanna try it. 🐍

    • Just landed in Dubai. It’s hotter than a firecracker in the middle of the night. Also, due to the visit of China’s President Xí Jìnpíng (習近平) the cell network is titled “WelcomePresChina.”

    • Got some dope shots of gorillas and chimpanzees coming your way! Other members of my family got some amazing shots. We saw both in their natural habitat. With the chimpanzees we tracked them in the rain forest, trying to keep up with their speedy movements as a group. As for the gorillas, it took us 4-5 hours to find the family in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, but once we found them, we got to observe them for a little over an hour. Truly an amazing experience!

    • Here is one of the gorillas we saw. Truly gentle giants. They pretty much just chill all day eating leaves and interacting with family members. They are not at all what the movie “King Kong” portrays.
