Social Distancing day trip, hoping to get out of Phoenix’s heat. Visited Woods Canyon Lake, AZ on the Mogollon Rim. Decided to check out Bear Canyon Lake for the 1st time. Road was rough “washboard” but scenery was green and inviting. Crawled our way along and upon arriving found you could not drive to the lake, a hike was necessary. Unfortunately it had started to rain, so I was not able to see the lake at all. Not sure if the road warrants a trip back. Along the way to Bear Canyon Lake, we visited a Mogollon Rim Fire Tower. It was vacant, go figure, during peak fire season???
