When I first got to Alaska on a summer seasonal job with the Alaska Fire Service in 1999, I had some time to kill and found my way and visited the Santa Claus House in North Pole, Alaska. They do a good job with their overall products, service and branding. You would think it is a no-brainer but I have seen more steadfast brands become annilated by poor business principles.
Anyway, after this last summer visiting up there and I happen to drive by it reminded me how for $10 you can add a custom paragraph of text to one of their form letters and they send it out with a North Pole postmark. I sent one out a few days ago to some friends in Delaware. My text was purely something out of Bad Santa but a personal way to poke fun at each of their three kids. It should be fun to hear of their reaction.
The custom video aspect definitely seems more in tune with the times, but, I am hoping that when they finally received this letter after most of their Christmas cards have arrived, they will say to themselves - WTF? hahahahahahh
