    • Popcorn! Not for it's nutritional value of course but for it's comfort. It's my "I have the house to myself, control of the tv and can do and watch whatever I want" comfort food. Add in a glass of wine and I'm all set. So yes, I'm grateful for popcorn and the times I get to decompress and be mindless once in awhile.

    • Cantelope.

      I realize this seems odd. But good Cantelope is so hard to find and pick out in the store. It varies in taste across the country with the Indiana Cantelope near the top of the list. Cantelope can leave your either very dissapointed or happy as a honey bee on a honeysuckle flower.

      I always pick them by color. A little whiff of the ends helps also.

    • It is so hard to find the good stuff, I rarely eat it because of that. We've grown our own the last few years, well some years it does well and others not so much. Good luck in your search for the perfect Cantaloupe!

    • I got food poisoning from cantaloupe a few years ago so I can't abide them anymore. Bacon is the obvious choice, but since dinner tonight was bruschetta with fresh basil from my garden, I'll go with basil. In a few weeks the tomatos will be ready and I'll change my vote to those.

    • Yum, that sounds amazing. Waiting for tomatoes to come in before we can make some fresh bruschetta. Oh yeah and when they come in it's Fresh Tomato & Mozzarella every day - with basil. Mmmmmmm

    • Avocados have been a huge hit for my daily breakfast. I've only recently discovered how good they are on a toast in the morning with a cup of coffee. Now almost daily I make these toasts and look forward to them every night. Ironically the first time I tried an avocado I hated it! I guess it takes some time to get used to the smell and texture, but once you do... OMG they are so good!!! πŸ˜‚

    • I was going to say avocado. Makes almost everything better. lol Ripe cantaloupe is superb, but it's so hard to get a good one that will ripen properly at home. A really good ripe tomato is a wonderful thing and nearly unobtainable. Modern production and delivery systems ruin a lot of food. Random one, a good chunky beef stew with potatoes. Yum. Or a proper French baguette, fresh, with butter and ham.

    • Another really good one, I have avocado toast quite often for breakfast. They really are good, in salads, on sandwiches, and even just plain!

    • You guys are making me hungry and I just had breakfast! We grow our own tomatoes and rarely ever buy them from the store because they have no flavor.
