    • I cannot for the life of me figure out the pecking order of the posts listed in the feed(s).

I tried to bump an old conversation to the top with a new comment a few hours ago. I can’t find it now. Can I bump an old thread by adding to it? Or do I need to start a new conversation?

One other thing I’ve noticed JSYK—after a thread gets kind of long, my screen will freeze if someone else is also adding a comment while I’m composing. I have to get out of my comment screen and then come back in again to get the cursor to work right again. It has happened often enough that I just do that automatically whenever the cursor freezes now.

Compared to the bugginess we had to deal with pre-Cake app, the user experience (UX) is 100 times better. The format editor is more responsive now and I have greater cursor control when highlighting text.

Freezing of the app when you’re crafting a response, however, is annoying and an obvious source of friction for a new user who’s creating their first response.

It’s automatic now for me, when my response freezes up, to hit the pink arrow at the top of the screen, which brings me back to my timeline.

Then I have to click on the conversation to open it up again—sometimes I have to first scroll through the timeline to find it.

Then I have to scroll through the conversation thread to the post I was responding to.

Then I have to click reply and my response reappears.

Sometimes it will freeze up a second time before I’m finished and I will have to repeat this.

Thanks for bringing this up @lidja . I thought I was the only one who had this happen.

    • You have described my experience exactly.

I feel such a wave of relief when I find my half-composed message still there, that I kind of forgive the freeze up. Lol.

    • I think conversation rank is determined via the sacred juice formula. But I never had any screen freezing, and to be specific, I usually post from a Chrome browser on Windoze.

    • Nothing special. I clicked the bell. If I were you trying to locate that post, I'd try go and click on my own profile, then look for my posts.

    • Hmmm... so the topic was bumped for the people who had already participated in the conversation, but didn’t bump in the tabbed feeds... 🤔

    • @lidja There are 3 different sort orders for conversations in the feed.

      1. Interesting - this is the default, and determines order by number of reactions, posts, and creation. Bumping doesn’t do anything here.

      2. Active - sorted by most recent post, this is probably what you are looking for.

      3. New - most recent conversation, bumping has no effect here.

You can change sort order at the top of the feed. Hope that answers your question.

As for the freezing issue, which platform is this happening on? Thanks!

    • @Eric @kevin I am on an old iPhone 5s, which is why I never raised this issue before: I figured it was a below baseline technology issue that I just had to deal with until I upgraded to a newer phone. I don’t remember this being an issue I raised during beta testing of the app in December, but it’s definitely been an ongoing frustration with the app for probably months. Also, sometimes it won’t freeze but the cursor disappears so I can still type or backspace but I can’t highlight text to format. @lidja have you experienced this at all?

    • Sometimes it will not only freeze up, but the cursor will highlight blocks on the screen which do not align with the existing text. Very weird.

    • - Open the Settings App

      - Go to General

      - Goto IPhone Storage

      - Scroll down and click on Cake

      - You should see the version number like my above photo.
