The question is, would Rivian become a showroom car at GM dealerships or would they pursue Tesla's strategy by opening up their own branded stores?
If Rivian gained access to GM's dealer network for sales and service, that would be huge. Having to build out a sales and service network on their own would take them many years. I'm also curious to find out whether GM might end up using Rivian's platform for some of their own vehicles.
Amazon is a bit of a surprise, but I guess it shouldn't be. All the tech giants seem to want a piece of the self-driving car space, and I guess it makes a lot of sense for Amazon to invest in the field since I'm sure they'd love to replace delivery drivers with self-driving delivery robots.
