    • Took a short road trip to Cave Creek, AZ yesterday. Stopped for dinner at Mountain View Pub. My 1st time there. They had a nice patio with a nice view of Black Mountain (per Google). Menu had a nice variety of selections, too! Our “social distancing dinner with a view” was abruptly ended when the Health Inspector walked in , shut the place down because of the Governor’s press conference.! They quickly packed us a to-go box, we slammed our beers and headed home. Enough “adventure” for me today!!

    • Kind of what we do now, we will come upon a small town and drive through the neighborhoods looking at houses, local parks, points of interest.

    • That's exactly what I do, day trips to state parks. I've setup my mule to hold a days' worth of sustenance (mostly water and maybe a snack). I like finding places with little to no visitors, depending on which day of the week and time I go there. Mosquitoes do the rest to help my social distancing 🦟🦟🦟 some days.

    • Visited my son in Denver last week. I'll start a separate post on air travel. Here is a picture of a mountain stream next to the trail to Chinns Lake about 10K feet above sea level.

    • I traveled from LA to Denver last week. I was concerned prior to the trip about travel itself. I found that having taken precautions, I would do it again.

I am generally a cautious person, but for personal reasons felt I needed to take this trip. There were three things I was concerned about wrt Covid-19 - airports, safety while in flight, and safety in Denver. I expected to do the same semi-isolation that we do in LA and found that visiting my son, it was just as easy. LAX and DEN were surprisingly empty. One could easily stay 60 feet (not a typo) away from others in the airports. There were no more that 2 in front of me at the security checkpoints. These were the only place where one needed to be relatively close to others because there were so many TSA personnel per square foot. I flew Delta which is still keeping middle seats open. Everyone on the plane had a mask and Delta supplied wipes to allow one to cleanse your personnel area. They also claim to cleanse the entire plan before every flight. I still would have felt a bit uncomfortable on the plane, but I had an N95 mask left over from last year's fire season. With that nice tight fitting mask, I felt very comfortable on the flight. I would do it again.

Here is a picture of DEN.

    • Everyone wore a mask on the flight. As far as I could tell, I was the only one wearing an N95. I'd feel comfortable on a longer flight, but only because of the N95. Clearly flight attendants and pilots do this everyday with a lesser mask including flying on longer flights and perhaps that is sufficient.

    • Let's just be honest, the mask isn't some powerful talisman and we still brave the luck. Especially since the medical / Pharmaceutical cabal keeps a tight lip or claims a lot is still unknown. They look at it as a job they want to squeeze the most out of.

    • Decided to try a resort “staycation” in Tucson! Stayed at Westin LaPaloma Resort, very nice with lovely views but ,wow, does the pandemic make “resorting” inconvenient. Half of the amenities are closed. Limited access to food and beverage. And only half of the guests wearing masks!?

    • Anyone in Phoenix, AZ want to share their favorite cool summer getaway camp spots? Our stand by is the Payson campground, but getting tired of the same old, same old. Anyone familiar with Canyon Lake? Thought it might “feel” cooler than Lake Pleasant and accepts gas motors!
