UC Berkeley offers a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) titled, “The Science of Happiness.” I’m quite curious about it and have signed up to audit the course that starts Jan. 7 just to see what Happiness PhDs have to say. Heh. (Is my skepticism showing? Hmmm.)
I’m wondering if anyone here has any experience with this course? Or with the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley?
I know the ideas about the importance of happiness have been challenged a lot lately, and I wonder if this group has stayed on top of the science, or if they are just trying to tap into the throngs of frustrated, unhappy people who spend a lot of time and money on every self-help idea and/or book that comes along. (Okay, now my hefty skepticism is*really* showing. Heh.)
