I made this Bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) photo 17 years ago in Alaska. It makes my Top 100 Anthology Project because - well it's the first time I captured an eagle with a jack rabbit in his talons :)

I have actually managed to do this three times - this was the first and it was a thrilling memory. It's been a strange experience for me (selecting my favorite 100 images that is...) I've been going back and forth on old and new images. I am pleased to find that I still enjoy some of my earlier work. While I am certainly a better photographer now than I was 17 years ago, and the camera gear I use today much more sophisticated - the passion I had for the subject back then often still managed to carry the day.

I guess it just goes to show you how important passion is to successful photography...
