I felt like a cool kid among friends this month for having seen Free Solo. It was amazing to talk with other people who saw it. Instant common fascination.
But everyone was talking about the Fyre festival documentaries and it felt like I was the only one who hadn't seen one. So last night I finally watched the Netflix version. Oh my God. I should have watched that when it came out.
Is it just me or are some documentaries becoming must-watch TV and movies? I need to get ahead of the curve, so I'm making a list. The first two on the list:
Apollo 11 in the big IMAX theater an hour's drive from my home. Apparently they discovered incredible 70mm original footage of maybe the most amazing scientific achievement ever:
The Inventor coming March 18 on HBO! I'm going to watch this the minute it comes out. It feels similar to Fyre Festival but much, much bigger. Living in Silicon Valley like I do, everyone will be talking about this one.
What's on your list?
