This is a link to an article from Geophysical Research Letters which seems to suggest that when the world parked our cars and trucks and significantly lowered the production of CO2, that the surface of the land masses actually warmed more than expected, and the article seems to attribute that anomalous warming to reduced reflection of sunlight due to aerosols and particles accompanying vehicular use.

The article is not a simple article to read, but proposes a highly unexpected result, so I am interested to hear how @Chris and other climate physicists interpret this article and its unexpected paradoxical effects.
