It promises to be an interesting fall.
One of the local universities - Indiana State University - publishes a Covid Dashboard page on the web - so that the public, students, families, and public can follow how Covid 19 is affecting the student body, and how it is being managed.
Right now, as of August 20, 2020, 27 students and 4 employees are isolated and quarentined due to active infection and a positive test. Another 70 students and 16 employees are isolated due to close contact to a case of Covid 19.
"Close contact" is defined by CDC and the Indiana Department of Health as over 15 minutes of exposure to a known case of Covid 19 at a distance that is closer than 6 feet.
I post this not a criticism of ISU, but a suspicion that they are not an outlier of college campuses this fall.......
This is information we all need to be aware of, and to appreciate carefully and thoughtfully.
Purdue University has already suspended 36 students for not following campus rules for returning to the campus, according to the Washington Post.
