    • hello I am new. I am a real life refugee plunged into being a cyber refugee....from hello, here is a picture I took. I love photography.... reading...I used to be a university professor of English Literature and world literature. I live at the far eastern edge of the US Canada is just across the bay.

    • welcome to Cake, Nora. 🎂 You’ll find a lot of phography lovers here. And literature. 🙂

I’m answering you from a mountain bike looking over a reservoir in California, the first time I’ve seen it full in years.

    • Hi and welcome to Cake, Nora!

We have quite a few Google+ people here especially in the photography and reading / writing topics. You may already know some of them. If you follow or browse a Google+ topic you'll see the conversations we already have and how to get started.

      Happy to help you onboard!

      Please ask any questions.

    • Hi Nora, welcome! I was also active on G+, still exploring here.

Based on your location statement I'm guessing you're in far eastern Maine. I live north of Boston in MA, and I'm addicted to visiting Acadia National Park.

I'm a photographer too, splitting my time between landscapes and macro. Here's a photo from a favorite location near home, the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.

    • Welcome to Cake! I came here from G+ as well, and it's been great so far. In fact, after the rapid decline in activity on G+ and the massive surge of spambots, I'd say Cake has actually been better than G+. I'm sure you'll fit right in. Don't be afraid to share or post about anything that interests you. There'll always be people here to share conversations with you.

    • G’day from down under from another from G+ still there as well but in the final weeks now, I’ll be there till the lights get turned out. But they are certainly turned on here at Cake. 🍰. Looking forward to seeing more of your shots here. This ones shot using a personal head lamp the sort used for hiking etc. always fun playing with light.
