For me, there isn’t a more exciting time in sports than when the NHL playoffs start. As a die hard Sabres fan, I haven’t had a primary rooting interest in quite a few years, but I absolutely love watching every game. I am also a Sharks fan, have been as long as I remember, but not as invested as I am with Buffalo, so their recent run was fantastic for me and I want tgem to win the cup.

I’m particularly excited about the Golden Knights. If they could pull it off I’d be stunned, but they are so exciting. I constantly hear about how the Sabres have the excuse of “new coach new gm new system” is why we are bad, but this VGK franchise didn’t even exist a year ago, and they are a top team in the league.

Well playoffs start in a few minutes, time to get ready!

Vegas having the year they have had was just amazing and it will be fun to see how far they get in the playoffs. But...... GO BRUINS!! (they had a better season than I expected but I am not sure they will get very far in the playoffs). Playoff hockey is so intense and very different than the regular season; it's a blast to watch all the games!

I'm a huge Sharks fan, and this has been a pretty great season so far. I'm relieved we've been doing so well with the constant rotation of injuries of our top players. The young guys are really rising to the occasion, which is great considering Thornton probably doesn't have too many years left and the loss of Marleau to the Maple Leafs. Watching their performance against the Predators shows that they've got the speed and talent to contend with the top-ranked team in the league, so hopefully we make it to the finals again.

Playoffs are always a great time, and it will be interesting to watch if the Golden Knights can keep up their stellar performance. I'm not all that shocked that they've been doing so well, since everything about the expansion draft was stacked in their favor. But it's always good to mix things up in the league every now and then.

NHL playoffs are definitely one of my favorites of any pro sport. I remember when the Blackhawks won their first Cup (of the recent era) and how exciting it was to be living in Chicago and watching every single game with everyone on the edge of their seats. When they won, the city went bananas for a week.

My Blackhawks aren’t in it this year so it will be a little harder for me to stay interested the whole time, but I’d love to see the Sharks finally take home a Cup. And as you all mentioned, Vegas winning it all would be such a miracle and fun to watch!

I think there is a problem is Vegas wins. The NHL changed the system for selecting players for an expansion team because they wanted a reasonable team that would attract fans right away. It looks like they may have gone too far the other way and gave the Knights an unfair advantage over the other teams that a based upon super stars and salary caps. If they win it breaks the traditional model of good tops lines and weak bottom lines and I bet at least a few teams will try to arrange their teams more in line with how the Knights are arranged. It's the hockey equivalent to Money Ball.

BTW I'm a huge Sharks fan, been a season ticket holder for 24 seasons. I'm hoping they beat the Knights. :)

I feel the same way. One of the guys on Sharks Postgame described it well, saying that the way the draft was set up, Vegas basically built a 2nd-2nd-2nd-3rd line team rather than a 1st-4th. Luckily, the Sharks' 4th line has been performing exceptionally well, so we'll be pretty evenly matched. I'm actually a bit worried that if Thornton jumps back in, he'll throw off the dynamic the Sharks have had since the end of regular season. We've got some great speed thanks to the young guys like Kane and Hertl, and we'll need to keep it fast against Vegas.
