From the New York Times

Why Tiger Woods crashed seems to have been partly explained, when the Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva reported that the black box from Tiger's car shows he was travelling about 85mph on Hawthorne Boulevard when the accident occurred, and was travelling about 75 mph when it hit the tree. I am rather surprised the car looks as good as it does, having hit a tree, airborne, at 75 mph.
