I am surprised these tourists are not Americans.
Every time I go dog walking along a nearby street I pick up litter. Lots of it. My drive to and from work always makes me cringe because of the litter. I know it is not safe to think about cleaning up the highways myself but I wish there was a way to change people's behavior. We live in a beautiful area but the litter and graffiti are so disheartening.
New Zealand is on my bucket list of places to visit so I hope the welcome mat will still be out if I can finally get there.
Any ideas out there to help prevent litter (besides a plastic bag ban, which seems to help some)?
