I, a camera snob, finally realized that most of the time when running, biking, walking, motorcycling, or skateboarding somewhere, I'm stuck with only an iPhone in my pocket when I see something beautiful like one of these flowers — and that there are finally amazing pocket cameras. To me they have always carried the stigma of point and shoot.
So I bought one last night, the Sony RX100 VII, put it in my pocket and walked the neighborhood this morning. This is what I saw. Seems to me these photos are within spitting distance of my SLR and quite a bit better than I am able to get from my iPhone, no?
I hardly did any adjustments. Never a white balance adjustment. Barely an exposure adjustment, mostly just cropping.
