Electric cars are here to stay. While the technology and expertise are growing, the prices are coming down dramatically. So retrofitting classic cars is now becoming more affordable, but can a 1960s car with electric powertrain be called classic?
Verge published this interesting example of retrofitting Porsche 912 with a Tesla powertrain:
EV West, the company behind the retrofit plans on selling $50,000 conversion kits for the Porsche 912.
When retrofitting a classic car saves it from being sent to the junkyard, I see no issues. But what if you have a perfectly functioning classic car... Would you strip the engine out and replace it with an electric motor and battery pack?
